This website is a work in progress just as a painting is a work in progress. After 20+ years as a professional artist, teacher, and marketer of fine art, I wish to share this knowledge with other struggling artists.
What color is white? Why transparent watercolor? What makes a painting look 3-D? How do you mix color? What colors should the palette include to get the broadest range of color? How is watercolor translated into powerful paintings?
These and many other questions all have answers somewhere. Why not collect answers onto one website which can be interactive with other artists having problems. Don’t spend the rest of your career trying to solve a problem that may already have a solution.
My long-range intent is to feature a website for the User Community. We can share a gallery, share comments and solutions and share frustrations about things that don’t work.
When you feel the “artist block” closing in deep within your soul, where do you look for inspiration? Share photo collections! Look through copies of old art magazines!
“Wonderful World of Watercolor” is published by Watson-Guptill, NY, and is now available in bookstores everywhere (click to purchase from Barnes and Noble). This comprehensive watercolor resource has terrific knowledge for sale. I know because I wrote the book. You'll hear more about this book when the interactive portion of this website becomes available.
I am a nationally known artist and teacher. I have all the necessary credentials and am proud to be able to present them to you. I have paintings and prints exhibited with my gallery, and I have had more than one solo show, and eleven student shows. A snapshot of my book can be seen on this website soon.
Please come back and visit often to see the progress as this site is developed!
